WHAT CAN COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE WITH THE EMPHASIS ON CARE!

What Can a Massage do for you?

Massage Therapy can:

  • relieve your stress and anxiety
  • increase the nourishing blood supply to your tissues
  • improve your energy and alertness
  • aid your recovery from pulled muscles, or sprained ligaments
  • ease many of the uncomfortable stresses of child bearing, including: edema, backaches and exhaustion
  • relieve certain repetitive motion injuries related to on-the-job activities
  • greatly reduce your pain if you suffer from temporal mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), or carpal tunnel syndrome
  • compensate, at least in part, for lack of exercise and muscular contraction if you're a person who, because of age, injury or illness, is forced to remain inactive

Therapeutic Massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue to prevent, and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm and stress; and to promote health and wellness. The American Massage Therapy Association defines massage therapy as: "A profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques with the intent of positively affecting the health and well being of the patient."

Massage therapy improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal and nervous systems, and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. Massage involves holding, causing movement of soft tissue, and/or applying pressure to the body. It comes in many forms, including:
  • SWEDISH- a relaxing, deep-tissue massage
  • TRIGGER POINT THERAPY- applies concentrated pressure to "trigger points" (painful irritated areas in muscles) to break cycles of spasm and pain
  • SPORTS MASSAGE - helps to reach optimal performance through injury-free training, effective in the rehabilitation process
  • MYOFASCIAL MASSAGE - releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow and deep pressure on the contracted area of muscles, tendons and fascia
  • ACCUPRESSURE - accessing the accupuncture points with pressure
Massage is often utilized before or after chiropractic adjustment, per your doctor's order. Massage therapy is performed on a comfortable padded table in our therapy department.Sessions last about 15 to 30 minutes. Our certified Massage Therapists will use oil or cream to manipulate the soft tissue. Some insurance plans cover massage.
